D1 Yapper Loses His Backpack

Writer's picture: Mann BellaniMann Bellani

This past week, I volunteered at and attended the FISD ISM Professional Symposium. Volunteering was an interesting experience, and it helped me realize just how far I've come in just a year. Even though I remember last year's symposium like yesterday, I have grown more mature, more knowledgeable about my topic, and more prepared for what this year has in store. It sounds like a mean thing to say, but seeing how many ISM I students lacked direction helped me to realize this. I did my best to impart good advice at the end of each interview. The first half of the day was a warm-up for the latter, and I feel that when speaking to professionals later on, I spoke very well. I received perfect scores on both interview rubrics and even received an internship offer. The day wasn't imperfect though, and I ended up losing my backpack. I honestly was angrier at myself than my parents were, and I felt horrible for the next 16ish hours. To my relief, my backpack was found, and I picked it up the next morning.
